  1. This is a wonderful idea! Thank you very much for it!

    Dear Mr. Divoff,

I have just wanted to say how much I love your work! I first saw you in “Lost” and Mikhail became my favorite “other” right off the bat (yes, he has surpassed Ben!) due to the wonderful way you played the character. I actually wondered at first rather he was an other or not and so you really had me guessing there. I, of course, knew then that I’d love to see your other works and have had much fun doing so. I am greatly looking forward to “The Dead Matter”. Thank you so much for choosing to have such a fan friendly website, and I wish you best in the following new year. :)

  2. Although, I hope to see you again on Lost - I have enjoyed (and own) most of your movies/TV appearances for years. I am very excited about The Dead Matter (I love the people at Midnight Syndicate - they are all so kind and simply a blast to quasi-work with/talk with!). I also am looking forward to The Rage being released.

I have also greatly enjoyed the ADFB and all of our wonderful posters there and hope to make/re-make as many friends here as well. I hope you received the ADFB’s Christmas present to you - not a great deal of *stuff*, but it was fun to put together and even more fun when combined with our board member’s enthusiasm for the project! A great group of people that I hope will post/sign up here as well.

Question” Do you have anything else in the works for us to look forward to?

    Blessed Be!

  4. Dear Mr. Divoff,
l was only 14 years old when l first saw you in “Toy Soldiers” and that was it, l stuck. Fifteen years past and not only feeling the same, but even more attached to you than before. l am sorry to inform you that l have watched only around 15 of your movies/TV appearances. lt is very difficult to find your work here in Greece and specially in my hometown, but l never stop looking. Yes, it gives me great pleasure to watch you, but recently can’t stop thinking of “YOU”, not your roles, but the man behind.l can’t stop wondering how you really are, how you think, what do you really want or like, things like that…and perhaps l am not the only one that thinks in this way. Maybe fans thinks like that in general, l honestly don’t know.

One of the most powerful feelings in our lives (like love) is the “wish”. lt can move mountains, heal sick people and even rearrange the stars in the sky, especially when it is combined with love.l can only say that you are in my wishes and one of them is for you to be HAPPY.

    Thank you!

  5. “Mr. Divoff further told me that he plans on involving his fans in an upcoming project…”

Anyone wish to make any guesses as to what this project might be or entail? I know I would be very interested in hearing what everyone’s thoughs are on this matter.

  6. Mr. Divoff,

I have been a fan for many years and have always wondered since I have seen you play so many bad guys (and a few good ones) and they are all different. How do you get into character? Do you think of criminals past and present or something different? Also I have seen you play aliens, bikers, djinns, gun men, drug lords, mad doctors, pilots, and many russians. What would be your perfect role like if you could pick who you wanted to play next (hero, villain, etc.)? I just had those questions on my mind when I seen this section and wanted to ask.

    Thanks

    Comment by Amanda — December 6, 2007 @ 10:31 pm

  7. Great questions Amanda - you always come up with the most interesting ones!

I personally would like to see Mr. Divoff in a non-baddie role (the only one I can remember is Running cool and in Killer’s in the House.

Although he was a *villian* in KITH, he seemed more like a really reluctant bad-guy who did what he did for love and then went completely schizo after his lady-friend got hurt and subsequently died - sorry for the spoiler if you have not seen this TV film - but there are no spoiler tags!).

I think a comedy or a romatic comedy would be a nice change - or a non-horror focused drama where he is actually the leading man and hero.

Don’t get me wrong - I adore/adored Mikhail and didn’t necessarily see him as a *bad guy* as much as I saw him as a soldier/former soldier who followed orders because he was devoted to the island and not necessarily Ben or the Others.

He did what he was told to do, like any other soldier and wanted to be left alone - maybe because he either didn’t like what happened during the purge or really did not like most of what the Others were doing.

    Just my opinion, FWIW…

    Comment by MadCapp — December 7, 2007 @ 12:56 am

  8. I agree with you, MadCapp, in your view of Mikhail. I also do not view him as a bad guy, but as someone who, in his mind, was dedicated to what he thought was right. That is something that I’ve always found interesting about the “others” in general – they really do seem to believe that they are the good guys.

Ironically, I felt similar about Luis in ” Toy Soldiers”. I always see Luis as someone who is a product of his childhood environment, being brought up to believe that dealing with situations the way he did was the only way to do it, and that his motive was actually a very pure one - his love for his Father.

  10. Cool. Mr.Divoff is one of the best people I know. The first time i ever saw him was in LOST and the first movie was Wishmaster, LOVED it! Only seen number one though…

    Comment by Tylerrr93 — December 8, 2007 @ 11:15 am

  11. Dear Mr. Divoff,

The very first movie i ever saw you in was Wishmaster, and the very first tv appearance i saw you in was as “Rudy Mendoza” from “Walker,Texas Ranger:Everyday Heroes”. Rudy is a drug lord who was not very nice to his wife,Maria, and was running drug labs in an old warehouse.

A very good friend of mine here on your blog and from your previous forum, helped me choose the name “Mendoza98″ in honor of that character,”Rudy”. I have it taped from Walker Texas Ranger show and watch it at least three times a week. I have alsio seen you in another Walker episode, “Deep Cover”. Again your character on there meets an untimely end. I really like to watch you in tv shows like “LOST” and i wished that they would have brought your character back as a regular. But the last thing we fans saw was the underwater explosion where “Mikhail” killed “Charlie” . We saw your smile through the porthole but we did not see “Mikhail” escape before the explosion. You were wonderful in the role. As you are in everything you do! I have been a longtime fan of yours since “Wishmaster” and i have the dvd of both movies ( Wishmaster/ Wishmaster 2) . I just love “Nathaniel Demerest”!! He has such a wicked sense of humor :-D I have so many favorite scenes in both of those movies i would not be able to list them all here. I have seen you as “Robert Breed” in “Captured” . I have to admit i cried the first time i ever saw Robert get his fingers cut off by that madman.Yes, “Robert” was a car thief along with his younger brother who helped him attempt to steal the car, before “Robert” was trapped in the car in the garage. But that old man was truly Insane!! Nick Mancuso plays the owner of said car. He, in my opinion was the “bad guy”,as he was so consumed with greed, wanting more and more money, wanting to build this perfect city, not caring who he hurt in the provcess. All consumed by the mighty dollar he goes berserk and poor “Robert” pays for it. But, i like what happens to that old guy in the end.

I also was able to see you in “Running Cool” several years ago and want to add that to my collection of your movies. When i can i am going to buy two of Magic Island” ,because i am the proud grandmother of five grandchildren and i know they would love watching you as “Blackbeard”. i have two lovely daughters, married. My oldest daughter has three chidren ages 10 months,4 years and 10 years old. My youngest has two children, ages three and six years old. The oldest ones love pirate movies. In my honest confession,i will admit i will buy a third one for myself. :- ). I read an interview of you years ago with The Arrow where you said you really enjoyed making that movie for children. That is wonderful!

I did not mean to take up so much space and i appreciate your time reading my letter.Thank yhou for giving your fans a way to write our letters to you. I know we all do. Looking forward to the upcoming project yiou have planned for all of us here. God Bless You, Mr. Divoff. Much continued success. I wished you a Very Merry Christmas in the blog. Take Care!

  13. Dear Mr. Divoff,

The first time you sort of came into my life was when I saw the Highlander episode “Little Tin God” about 8 years ago and I was immediately mesmerized, talking about presence! I instantly became a fan and over the years I’ve collected quite a few of your wonderful movies, with Wishmaster being one of my favourites. No other actor I know can portray a villain with such passion and conviction! You’re so good as a baddie that it’s scary! Besides playing a villain, I also enjoy the rare chance of watching you play in a comedy movie such as “Magic Island”, in which you played a pirate. A rare and lovely opportunity to see another side of your talent, which, if possible, I’d like to see more of in the future.
What I find very odd is that you’re not as well-known in my country (The Netherlands) as you are in the US. Many of your movies simply aren’t available in the stores over here, so I buy them straight from the US. I certainly hope to see more of your movies become available over here as I’m positive that there must be many more Andrew Divoff fans in my little old country. Fortunately, LOST is also being aired here, so I advise everyone I know to watch the series and to keep a special look-out for you. ;-)
I’m also very impressed with your multilingual skills, to be able to express oneself on 9 different languages - AWESOME! I myself master only 4: Dutch, English, French and German. Well, if you could spare the time to learn one more, how about Dutch? Can’t possibly be more difficult than Russian…

Thank you for giving us all the wonderful gift of friendship and inspiration through your work and this website!

    Best wishezz and take care!

  14. I am a LOST addict, and proud. My favorite Lostie is of course Locke, but as soon as I saw Mikhail’s first episode, he quickly moved to favorite Other and 2nd on the favorite list of everyone. (who doesn’t love eyepatches?) I just love how you played him and it makes me very sad that he is probably now dead. At least Charlie got killed too.
I also have see the Wishmaster 2 (not one yet…) and Toy Soliders. I loved them both dearly.

  15. Hello from an old-timer of sorts? :)

Nyks from the old message board (and “You Know You’ve Watched Too Much Wishmaster When…” list days from around 2000-2001) says hi. Glad to see there’s a site again, though I confess to not having actively kept tabs on it. It’s been great fun seeing Mikhail in Lost now though, especially given that we’re not finished with the season in Finland yet. Smiley thoughts to the man himself and any possible old gang who stumbles across this in the future, whether Amulet, BoneDjinn, Verina or whoever else there was around back then. I have fond memories of the old place so here’s hoping this new version proves as friendly and nice for fans, too. Thanks again, all the best and good luck with future projects from me!

I’ve finally made my way here by route of the ADFB. The site is wonderful!
I’m sure glad I discovered that the “bad guy” I had a crush on in Toy Soldiers many, many years ago was in fact one of my favorite Others! Can’t wait to see what work the future brings.

Many of these questions are quite good! I really like the historical figure one.

  30. I dunno, I don’t see anything that I would want except for the Djinn Ring - and I have yet to convince the spouse that it is in fact, a needed expenditure… It would be a lot easier if they excepted money orders. I have a few cards, but we normally do not buy a great deal online because my spouse is afraid of putting the numbers on the WWW.

  32. Maybe Nitro or Mr.Divoff will pop in soon, then maybe we can figure out how to do this.Buying online is risky, but i would trust Mr.Divoff’s secure site. I will let you know for sure Amanda. I was hoping to buy something this coming friday, but i will try to be patient and wait. I would like to buy a couple movies and a tshirt maybe(when they are made available).

  33. A pre-paid Visa or Mastercard works just like a normal credit card and can be used just about anywhere (as long as you have the money on it of course. I used one I got for Christmas to pay a co-pay tonight and it worked like a charm!!! I was pleasantly surprised!

    YAY!

I wonder if I can get a Djinn ring in a size 5??? Or maybe in Gold and bejeweled??? I will be happy to send the gold and gemstones (I collect loose gems and I hoard gold, silver and other bulk metals in case the economy tanks in the future (I want to make sure my kids are taken care of).

  34. You wear a size 5 ring too, MadCapp? So do I! My ring size hasn’t changed in years.

To those who don’t have a Paypal account, do you have a friend who has one and would let you use their account and then you could pay them back? That is what I do with Ebay when I find an auction that only accepts Paypal.

  42. After reading the comic Cyber 755 I have a couple of questions. Since it seemed that in the book it mainly showed the baddies and not much of how/what Cyber’s powers are. I was kind of lost when I read it trying to figure out that the bad guys are real & viruses and the hero Cyber lives in the Interverse. How is he suppose to fight crime? I mean like powers/weapon of choice like sword, gun, energy blast, healing ability, fighting hand to hand combat etc? Does he control computers, electronic devices, what other then chasing viruses can he also do? I really want to know is Cyber a clean cut good guy or a hero with a dark side to him? I liked the book and there are so many different ways it could go. I really would like to see how this continues since there is so much that was stuffed into the 30 page book and a few things that probably was left out.

    Comment by Amanda — February 21, 2008 @ 10:12 pm

  43. Thanks for sharing the cominc w/me Amanda! I agree that it needs more of a back-story on the main charachter (Hero). I think I need to mention that *Cyber* has a different meaning on the web now (unless I am stating a fact that the writers already know).
